Being part of the local community

We started with the idea of developing a community tourism model where every member of the community will be positively affected from our initiative.

All services in Munlai is provided by the local community and we give necessary training to them. We operate regular health camps for the residents. A community development fund has also been introduced for the betterment of the area.

We try to operate with limited impact on the environment and work on raising awareness. We buy, as much as possible, supplies and services locally.

Waste bins have been installed to ensure overall cleanliness of the area.

We have contributed in building a school for the local children of Munlai and nearby villages.

Solar panels have been installed to ensure continued electricity supply in the village.

We encourage all travelers to be respectful towards the community and their culture.

We are producing organic fertilizers from waste for the locals to use in farming.

We educate & encourage the local community to protect, manage and enhance the local environment & nature.

Munlai has a revenue sharing model through which every resident is benefitted from each traveler’s visit.

Trainings are being provided to the weavers of Munlai to improve their products.

The philosophy of “take only photographs, leave only footprints, waste only time” is encouraged at all times for the travelers. Littering is strictly prohibited in the area.

We highlight the heritage and culture of Munlai throughout all the experiences that we offer.

The ecosystem of our hilly areas is very fragile. Travelers are advised to travel in a way that minimizes their impact on environment and wildlife.

Proper trainings are being given to the local community to help them educate on safe farming.
